Well, after 20 odd years working on PC's and bieng in the IT industry for 15 of them, I have just bought a new 27" imac :gag:

To be honest this has been brewing for some time. After getting an ipod touch, then the iphone and the ipad something about the slickness and useability of apple products just seems so much more attractive than the MS offerings nowadays.

Oh, and that screen

I cant wait for it to arrive now, I have ordered photoshop CS5 and Lightroom 3 with it as I am so familiar with it and have never touched aperture, but I hope it is everything I hope for and more :)

Another one gone to the darkside :D

I also ordered a time capsule thingy as it seems to be a really slick method of continual backup, so thats that headache covered too. all I need to do is find a way to get sage running on a mac and I am sorted :)

Hopefully, I will get a much better idea of the colouring of my images now as that screen seems to be perfect for photographers (or so I have read at least) and I can use my Spyder 3 Pro on it too (if that is even needed?)

Welcome to the dark side. I also used PC's for about 15 years before being drawn to the brilliant marketing that is Apple. I bought my 24" Imac just over 2 years ago now and it's still running the same as it was when I bought it! Never had any problems whatsoever. Some people aren't keen on the shiny screen, but I actually love it.

Enjoy!

If it helps, I do feel Sorry for you !

:)

welcome to the dark side - I made the move about 3 months ago and was the best thing I've done for ages.

One thing - did you replace PC liciences for LR and CS5 like for like? you know LR is liceinced for both platforms and if you phone adobe they'll swap cs5 for the cost of shipping

Congratulations on your new toys.

As for the applications, you could possibly return them; if not, flock them on here and sell them. I am sure someone will buy them off you :)

I think you can return software if it hasn't been opened...
