I've been having problems with my monitors losing sync occasionally and green horizontal lines on the screen when doing any graphics work. I was beginning to think it was the monitors, but it is getting worse and both monitors are doing it, so it must be the graphics card. I like quiet PCs, so always run passive cards to remove another source of noise in the room (there's 4 PCs in my office and I value my hearing). I've just upgraded from a 9500GT passive to a GTS 450 passive (in fact I bought it here: http://www.withchips.co.uk/gts450-1gb-ddr5-dx11-silent-h45sink-p-7651.html good price and great service).
Whilst I don't do any gaming, my Desktop aero perf index has gone from 4.3 to 7.2 and the gaming graphics has gone from 6.2 to 7.2. I've also lost all the green flashes and seemingly my monitors sync properly. It's also sitting there with a temp in the mid 40's driving 2 monitors.
I don't normally spend on graphics hardware, but this thing rocks!!
