Also, first time I've been able to capture one:


my first wren.Not a good shot, very heavily cropped as it was the other side of a stream. It had just taken a dip and was drying itself out on this tree stump.
The light was glorious this afternoon, made the colours really vibrate!
 
Great pics but I'm not 100% sure its a wren. I have been wrong before though. :)

Must be very frustrating for you. Is there no way of protecting the fish or keeping the herons away?

You'd think so, lol.

I relocated my pergola to stop the things but it didn't, i even put a small fence over the top too, but that didn't work..

I didn't want to put a net over the pond as the missus doesn't like it, but there is a Heron Sanctuary near us, so they have easy pickings.
 
After another look I think you are right, it looks more like a wren than anything else.
