Again testing the 300mm with the 2x. Shutter speeds were a real killer here with it being very overcast and getting late in the evening, the AF through the converter really slowed as the light started to drop as can be seen by the focus being slightly off the eye in this shot. I guess hand holding didnt really help either.

ISO400, 1/400th sec, 600mm f8.

These character mobsters have such piercing and bright eyes it is just such a shame you missed the focus on it ... :shrug: ... but a lovely composition and nicely done nevertheless ...

A little bright in the top left b/g too imgo ...

He had just flew in and landed on a sign, I only got two shots off before he flew away. I had been wanting to get myself walked around so I would just have a solid green background from the tree's. I think I need to remember the monopod for 600mm shots

I think if the focus was right on the eye it would be a superb shot - I don't mind the background really. I like the composition

And 300mm X 1.4 isn't 600mm
