Day 143

143/365 by JRTurnerPhotography, on Flickr

Went to Westmill Wind Farm again tonight to try capture the sunset, although my Cokin filters really wern't playing ball, so I ended up shooting this without filters, but I think it came out ok still! Really need to invest in LEE filters, hopefully in the next couple of weeks!

Fantastic work Jake, you've done really well since I last called in I'm loving all the recent stuff all is really great, it's making me a little sad for what I've missed not being able to get out for the last few weeks....

Keep up the great work

Great gosling shot - you must have been pretty close to them :)

146 - very cool :)

Not sure what's happened on 147 - does nt look very sharp in the distance....

Thanks Jeff, I took bread and they came too my feet!

I don't know what happened either, I shot this at a good f stop to get it all in focus, however the background still seems to have gone OOF.

Like the light painting shot very much.
Do you know where you set the focus point in the Lulworth Cove shot? If it was too near the front, it may by why the distant coast is OOF. Usually as a rule of thumb, focus a third of the way into the shot to get front to back focus.

Thanks Sarah! :)

I set it too close, on the flowers, so that will be why I lost focus.

The light painting looks like fun - although I'm not too keen on the converging towers :(

The sea looks a beautiful colour :)

Day 149

This tit has had some chicks in the ashtray outside work, and can be seen flying around all day collecting food for them. I'm not happy with this shot, the lens isn't long enough, so I struggle with a nice sharp capture.

Nice :)

Blue tit does need a bit more zoom to it though ;)

Nice one, next purchase a long lens then :) Think you did right to keep the shot like this though and not crop in as you'd lose definition, even with the mkIII :)

Long lenses are so expensive! I don't think a 70-200 would be long enough on this body, so would need something with 300 reach.

Thanks both :)
