Jammed release pin

Hey guys hope this is in the right section. As title says, I have a jammed release pin for the lens on my nikon d7100. It sometimes works and sometimes not. Your press the release in and the pin sometimes jams inward and you have to tap it with something like your car keys to get it back out, When stuck the lens will not click in and not focus for me. Any quick way to stop it jamming as I cant afford to send the camera for repairs just yet as its getting busy for xmas for me. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Presumably the camera is still under warranty, so send it in to Nikon to sort out. You might get it back in time for Christmas too.

It does sound like a repair job, and if you want it done under warranty that probably means sending it away to Nikon. But it doesn't sound like a complicated job, so if you were to take it to an authorised repairer (e.g. Fixation if you're in London) you might be able to get it done quickly and cheaply.

Thanks guys, yea its under warranty, I also took out the mack warranty thing to when i bought it which covers it for 3 years, looks like im going to have to send it back, its getting really annoying. Don't want to be without it over xmas.
