Jammed Tamron Problem

Hi, I've got a tamron 70-300 was using it today and for some reason the focus ring wont turn to it's full limits. It will only focus between 1.5 & 2.5m.

I've goggled it but no luck, any ideas?

Is there a focus limit switch? If that is on that stops it from focussing the whole range.

The only switch on the lens is the macro switch and it's not that. It's really odd, it's the same sort of stop that you reach the extreme of movement

Is it doing this in manual mode or AF mode? try switching it to manual and see if it works ok, then try AF again.

Have you been using the focus ring without disengaging AF via the switch?

Both, also tried it off the camera.

If you're sure about this my guess is that the switch has broken and the lens is stuck in the macro on position. When I owned one of these I always thought that switch seemed a bit flimsy.

But the lens isn't in the macro position, when I move the macro switch the focus ring will move further but still not full range. I guess my lens is going on a journey.
