Hi All,

Does anyone have experiences/ horror stories re. Jessops' own-brand flashguns? An external flash will be on the list of to-buys for me at some point soon, but I can't see my budget stretching to a Canon SpeedLight for a while.

I've read elsewhere about 3rd party flashuns often having compatibility problems with camera bodies (in my case a 350D).

Interested to hear other's thoughts.

Cheers,

Ian.

I've got two 300AFD in Canon fit and what they do they do well. I also bought a dome reciever too so I can use my second flash off camera, obviously there's no control over the power output and it fires at full power. I just diffused them if i needed to.

All in all, if you've not got a flashgun, they'll give some pleasing results and will help in the learning curve of using flashguns and multiple flash set ups.

Don't use them anymore as I got dedicated light setup so i'm selling them. Also got a Jessops Slave flashgun, which can be positioned anywhere and will fire along with the others.

I got two of them. A 280d and a 300d. they flash!

I've got a 300afd and a 360afd. They both work nicely, although I tend to only use the360 now as it has a full set of manual controls. The 300 is ettl only. Why not go instore and request to try them if you have compatibilty concerns ?

I have got 1 for my old sony a200, works fine gets some decent results, do find its better used on manual though as TTL doesnt seem to adjust/sync with camera perfectly.

would rather have a pair of Yongnuo with radio triggers for the money. I have had my 360 for a year and is OK, but does not like to trigger off camera in bright sunshine.. the zoom can be a oain too.... Mine goes mad from time to time...
