ive already ordered the sigma ex 1.4x tc to go with my siggy 70-200 mkII but i was wondering about the jessops 2x tc aswell as its only £80 ish i thought it maybe ok for emergency's??
has anyone got one of these and what would the iq be like(i know its not going to be as good as the siggy one)? and also would af still work with the jessops 2x tc and the siggy 70-200 mkII?

thanks

To be honest, I had the Sigma 1.4x, used it on a 180mm Macro with great results. After all its going to be a matched item for any longer focal-length Sigma lens. Personally I wouldn't bother with Jessops converter. Just my 2p worth.

i know im a bit wary of the jessops one , the 1.4 is on its way as we speak but i didnt know if it would be worth the money to give the 2x jessops one a go, i know ill loose some iq but im not sure how much i may get one at the weekend and ask them if i could bring it back if its not any good i suppose.
another question, would the 2x tc (jessops) be better than cropping and image shot at 200mm on the siggy 70-200mm mkII??
Thanks
Gibbo

A 2x converter especially on a 70-200 (or zoom) is usually a no no, not a good combination, very slow autofocus, loss of image quality, not one I would recommend, TC are primarily for primes, however, If I was going for non / brand TC a Kenko Pro or Sigma would be the two of choice, but forget about the jessops 2x TC, a waste of £80.

I think ill leave the jessops 2x tc n stick with just the siggy 1.4x tc thats on its way. Ill save me £80 for a rainy day.
Thanks guys.
Gibbo.
