Hi

I have just watched 'with landscape in mind' and was wondering if anyone knows what does joe cornish use to frame his shots? That device he puts to his eye that allows him to 'see' the shot before he uses his camera.

Linhof viewfinder. Adjusts to show view of different focal length of various lens.

Is the DVD good? Im thinking about buying it

I enjoyed it. The commentary he gives about how he works and thinks about each shot is very enlightening.

Strange coincidence - got a flier through the post today - he's doing "an evening with Joe Cornish" at Spirella Building Letchworth, Fri 23rd March. I've no connection etc, just saw his name this morning and then this thread.

theres an interview with him in this months 'digital camera' magazine - nearly worth the purchase price alone (which is just as well as theres naff all else of interest in this issue)

I enjoyed the DVD very much, its nice to hear his thought process as he takes each shot. Thanks for the info about the Linhof.

I might just have to get my wallet out in that case.

I attended a talk he did 3 or so years ago and it was fantastic so I had a feeling the DVD would be good. Is it shot in the UK?

Rob.

Yes. It's been a few weeks since I last watched it. From memory he travels across northern England from east to west, with bits in the Dales, the Lakes and he ends up somewhere around Sellafield.

I think I've asked before, but can anyone recommend another similar DVD?

I purchased Travelling Light by Charlie Waite. Interesting to see a pro use compact and CSC cameras

I've watched it about 20 times and really like it. He has a very calm way about him and his photographs are very nice indeed.

My only concern...is that it's just not long enough...I wanted about 10 hours more....Volume to, I hope :D

Cheers.
