What a great program, JK showed what its like to visit Alaska without the advantages normally afforded to a film crew.
I went to Alaska in September 2010 and this program captured the experience better than most. I did have to cringe slightly at some of JK's comments but that is part of his charm.
I went to Lake Clark Alaska & spent 4 days in a wilderness lodge where we were not allowed out without a guide due to the proximity & number of Brown bears. I can easily relate to his unease at the size of the magnificent animals & initially at the distance from which you can view them. However the guides instill confidence & the bears are more interested in feeding than being bothered about humans with cameras.
If you are a photographer then Alaska really ought to be on your bucket list if money allows.
