Ok, all your fault for introducing me to Joomla

I started playing via the virtualbox and turnkey joomla local install. everything is going great at the moment.

So I've started playing and really want to integrate the Airtight SimpleViewer web export from Lightroom 2, but I can't quite see how to get this working.

Media manager won't let me upload the xml or js file but will let me upload the swf file.

I've also tried the slideshow pro for lightroom plugin
http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/external-contents/photo-channels/8091/details

but I'm obviously missing something there as well.

Can I upload the lightroom export folder via the admin panel to root?

Or how does anyone else do this?
Cheers

you need a flash display module to show it in i think? I have one of the 'paid' slideshow extensions, but it has a clash with another module...

Ah - I'll carry on playing. All part of the learning process. It may be my virtual box isn't the best thing to play on so I may do a local install instead.

You may need a plugin that allows flash files to be inserted where you specify - there are a whole range of these, look at the JED

You may need to FTP the files in, and provide the plugin the relevant info as to thier location

You also have the option of both uploading the files and editing the HTML for a secific page content (its an option in the WYSIWYG editor). At which point you can drop the code in you need to load and display the files. This will probrably involve hard coding the URL of the files. Depending on how you are re-writing URL's, you may or may not need the full URL (sometimes, you can leave off the sites Base URL and put in something like this /myflashfiles/flashfile.swf

You may need a combination of all these things, as in the main the plugins are called by popping a line of code on the page that references the plugin (which references your files in its backend settings)

It's OK, I've worked out where I've gone wrong. I was using suns virtual box and it didn't allow me access to the root directory, which is where the gallery files needed to go for SSPLR plugin.

So I've moved over to Xampp and run it as a local apache server etc, which I think will help.

I think I might write all this up in the end as a beginners guide :D
