Jpeg only for BIF

Hi, just a quick question regarding shooting in jpeg(7d) rather than RAW for continious shooting in AI servo, ever since i have had a DSLR i have never shot in anything but RAW but found that i get a faster burst with Ljpeg thus hoping i will get a better hit rate due to being a touch faster than continous in RAW, any advice would be apreciated to the pros and cons .Thanks
 
My personal opinion is that you should concentrate on the timing rather than going for the spray and pray approach. Look for the wings in a position you like when in focus, then use RAW to get the best final result.

I suppose it comes down to whether you want lots of reasonable shots, or a lower number of excellent ones.

Bloody difficult with humming birds though.
