Just bought 5d

Hi,

Ive just bought a Canon 5d Mk 1 from ebay!!!

Is there any plan io can buy to warranty it against faults? As im a bit worried incase it fails for some reason.

It says it only has 5k clicks

Never heard of one, for loss and accidental damage yes, unless someone knows different.:shrug:

As far as I know you can get extended warranties from 3rd party companies nut only ig your camera is still under the factory warranty

Home contents or camera insurance may need receipts. Is ebay / paypal receipt eligible? It would be interesting to find out.

If it is only 5K (seriously doubt it) the it should have a few more years of life left.

Never heard of any after market warranties for cameras.

If you could get a protection policy it would probably be so expensive that it wouldn't really be worth it. They might look like small, plasticy cameras but they are tough as old nails in the soles of tough old boots.

Mine has been doing all the jobs that 1 series eos should be doing for 3 years now and it's not missed a beat. Poor old 1D II goes to every shoot as a backup and it never gets taken out of the bag.

The 5D mk1 needs to go to Canon to have the shutter count read accurately I used to own a 5D and had to do exactly that
