Well I'm delighted that I've finally bought my first SLR, and manged to get a great deal (well I think it is) at Currys.

40d kit with the 17-85mm kit lens, ex display (behind the glass counter) for £599. 14 days shop warranty and the usual 12months Canon Warranty.

I'll have to read the manual as theres a lot more than what I'm used to on my old Panasonic FZ7 but I cant wait to explore its ability!

I've had my 40d a while and I'm still more than happy with it. The 17-85 is a handy walkabout lens too.

Thats not too bad actually.

I had a 40D and absolutely adored it.

Have fun - its an amazing camera

Good choice and a nice bargain you've picked up.
I've had my 40D a few weeks and it's no surprise how popular this model still is even though Canon have discontinued, they tend get snapped up quite quickly on the trade / for sale section.

Sounds like a bargain, paid a little more than that recently for a used model (to be fair to previous owner it was A1)

Yeah I'm delighted with it! I've just noticed that the battery charger isnt in the box, the cable is but the charger has gone AWOL. I'll get onto them in the morning and see what they say. It shouldnt be an issue. Oh and can anyone tell me what happens about the Canon Warranty? Theres a warranty booklet in the pack but doesnt appear to be any product registration stuff. I've obviously got the receipt from Currys but is there any other stuff I need to be aware of to make sure I get the warranty?

Hey Rob.

Great to see you made a choice on a body.

Have fun when you get the charger (Bad Currys :bat:) and warranty sorted and look forward to seeing some shots.

Steve

The Curry's proof of purchase will be sufficient in the UK in terms of your warranty - however I believe you can also register the warranty online with Canon directly...
