Just bought my first....

Just bought my first brand new lens (I swore that I wouldn't get caught up in this lens buying business) the Sony DT 50mm f1.8 SAM.

Hopefully it should be with me tomorrow, and after reading the benefits of owning a 50mm prime I honestly can't wait!

Has anybody got this lens? Is it any good?

I got the camera, then decided that I NEEDED a flashgun, then a zoom off ebay...... then I broke said flashgun and had to buy another....

Now I convinced the wife that a 50mm will make those shots of the little ones soooo much better :thinking:

he he ive been trying to convince her for months that i need some more lenses and flashes and a new body and a tripod, shes having none of it XD

I have the Sony DT 50mm f1.8 SAM. you wil love it mate. Its my favorite lens

I have a Canon F1.4 50mm prime. It's much better at taking portrait photos in poor light than any of my other lenses. Your F1.8 won't be quite as good but it should still be significantly better than the average kit lens.
