Hey,

Having had precious little free time while I finished my last year at Uni, I've now moved to London from the North East of England, blown the dust off my camera and I'm keen to start taking shots again.

The problem: besides the obvious 'tourist' places, I've no idea where is good to go? I'm open to any and all suggestions (and at this point, any and all subject matters - I really just want to get taking some shots again) but if someone could give me some suggestions it would be appreciated.

Many thanks in advance!

Adam.

Open your front door.

Everywhere and anywhere in London has something of merit to shoot. Hit the streets and start shooting and I'm sure you'll soon be back in the swing

Borough or camden market, any of the main parks, or anywhere along the Thames for starters, but as Simmotino says, anywhere will do.
Where in London are you ?

I agree that most places in London are good for photography, just get out there at the best times of the day. Depending what you want for your portfolio here are a few suggestions:

- Kew gardens or large parks for landscaped gardens
- Canary wharf / Liverpool street for modern architecture
- Broadway market / Columbia Road flower market / Borough market for street shots
- Hoxton / Shoreditch / Camden / Dalston / Brixton for some 'colourful' characters ;)

Check out the City of London & Cripplegate Photographic society

You'll get a warm welcome and lots of inspiration - unfortunately you've just picked the Christmas period so there are no more meetings until the 10th Jan which is an evening shoot on the streets followed by a meal

David

Hi David,

I discovered the club quite recently and thought about going to one of the upcoming meetings, looks like they have some interesting events. Are you a member? I will try and get along to one of the January meetings.. !
