Finally decided it was time to upgrade my 450d to the 7d, for stills it was a no brainer but it was also the video that did it for me. I've watched a lot of video and read a lot of things about recording issues and intricacies and decided that I'll keep my camcorder for any time i'm doing a lot of video but that when I don't want to carry two cameras the 7d video function will be more than adequate even though it doesn't auto focus. I was more than happy with the on board mic (but i do have a rode external mic) when I listened to some samples on vimeo and since it's all just for home use anyway and nothing professional it seemed perfectly adequate.

Very excited now, ordered the 400x Sandisk 16gb CF card to accompany it, ow I just need a card reader, any suggestions

Congratulations Joe, I hope you get as much pleasure from your as I do mine. It is really a great camera to use. I have not used the Video function yet so cannot comment on that.

The first trip out with mine gaave me a lot of keepers, also shot a lot more frames than normal too.... :-)

thanks guys, i hope so too! Going to dublin on monday so that will be it's first outing

Did you order it from Wilkinsons - 7D and 580EX2 flash for £ 1299?

No, I wanted the kit lens with it not just the body, also I have a 430EXII flash. I got it from warehouse express for £1529 with the 18-135mm kit lens.

Does any of you 7d owners use sigma 150-500, 120-300. many subscribers say the 7d needs good glass. are the above good enough?

Hello, i noticed you had add on here for 450 but now been taken off, is it sold ?? if not how much are you asking for inc delivery ??
