A 105mm f2.8G AF-S VR Micro Nikkor Macro Lens.

Yummy.

Tough choice between that and the 150 sigma, but I thought the VR would be useful for doubling up as a portrait lens too. Im not going to have funds for a 70-200 for a long while, so this will be the extent of my telephoto range.

I know how you feel. It was announced barely a month after I bought the non-OS 'old' version. At least I can console myself with the fact that I couldn't afford the OS version anyway, and actually have little use for OS since 90% of my macro work is tripod.

But I get a disturbingly strong yearning in the pit of my stomach when I see a lens even better than my 150mm (in some ways anyway). This feeling could lead me to bankruptcy in later life if I'm not careful (And ultimately it could end up making me loose track of the fact that it isn't my camera set up that needs improving (oooh, shut up all you nikon users ), it's my photography skill).

beginning of 2011 Canon are around £750 & Nikons have yet TBC according to some UK sites....

Althou anoter has stated £1000 for all versions
