just purchased a nikon 18-105 vr lens... opinions please?

Hi All

I have a d3100 and fancied a longer lens so I have upgraded to a 18-105 VR coming from a 18-55 VR.

Have i made the right move? can anyone that uses one of these comment on what it is like?

Normal course of events on here is to ask for opinion, then choose whether to buy it, based upon the response ... not buy it then ask for opinions :D

Only joking, from what I have seen it produces some nice results, a handy zoom range 18-105, you will be fine with it :thumbs:
 
It seems to me that IQ wise it will be similar to the 18-55 but with the benefit of better build, a bit of useful range and crucially a non-rotating front element. I'd say it's a good move. All of these Nikon kit lenses seem to be well regarded.

I did so a bit of research but fancied some live reviews!!

As soon as I have had a chance to play with it, i will report back!

I got one of these as kit lens with my d7000 and have been really impressed.
 
I just sold one on here the other day. I only sold it as I had upgraded to a 18-200 vr2 and also have just bought a D700 so needed to help pay that off. I thought it was a great sharp lens but that's only my opinion I have seen other people not so keen on it.
