With regards to to clean, do you mean clutter free or free from noise?
If clutter free, that is a fortunate result of shallow DoF of course.
As for any noise that is apparent, I tend to run a two pass noise reduction in post processing. Even shooting at an ISO as low as 250 can introduce a touch of noise in macro so I run Noiseware on a very weak setting to start off with on the whole image with selective reversal brushing on the main subject and any in focus items such as stamen/leaves etc.. This cleans up the BG and a little on the subject without losing detail on the subject. I then run some sharpening on the subject and then run a further sweep of selective noise reduction, mostly for the BG again.
The softbox has an outer diffusion layer and an inner layer that attach with velcro as standard. I just placed a double thickness sheet of packaging foam sheet in between the outer and inner layer, no requirement for velcro or tape. It just sits in between
