Hi guys, I purchased an Azden SMX-10 DSLR Stereo Microphone from Ebay for £75 because I needed a microphone for a shoot at the last minute! I read some reviews and it seemed it would do the job.

I put it into my Canon 6D and went ahead but because the 6D doesn't have a headphone socket, I couldn't listen to the audio until playback.
On playback, this is the outcome...
I did lower the gain in camera and played about with some settings but nothing seemed to work, there was just this constant fuzzy noise on the video (as you'll hear on the video above).
Is this normal quality for a mic like this or should I be sending it back to the seller?
OR am I doing something wrong???
Also, I understand that it is possible to turn the mic socket into a headphone socket on the 6D using Magic Lantern but that still doesn't allow me to use headphones whilst the socket is being used for the mic!
Any suggestions / ideas???
Thanks,
AWM
