Hi,
Just received a nice new kata 33n1 from amazon at work and thought I'd jot down a quick 'out of the box' review.
Impressed.
Ok more detail. I don't have any stuff with to pack it out with but I'll give my impressions the best I can.
It seems a little bigger than the 30n1 I looked at in the shop but I think that's just the laptop sleeve, which is pretty much the same dimensions of the bag itself. Build quality seems excellent on par at least to the mid-high range lowepro ones I've been looking at and my current crumpler prettyboy xxxl.
A big gripe I've found from online reviews is that the side access zips can't be closed fully and therefore water/sand etc could get in...not any more. Kata have changed this to a full round completely sealed zip with a nylon tab that can be pulled out from inside under the buckle if you need the most absolute quick access.
The straps seem very comfy although it will be trail and error if I can wear it for long periods with the waist supports tucked in. Apart from that all loose straps can be hidden away securely for storage or when using on a plane as carry-on etc.
Tons of inserts, I'm sure I'm going to while away hours figuring out the best layout and the storage at the top is more than adequate for a sandwich and a compact waterproof jacket etc.
I'll update this as I pack my stuff into it but I'm really pleased and it just has to pass the OH test (that I don't look like a t*t wearing it) and it'll be happy days.
Cheers
Joe
