KATA 3IN1 20DL
does any one have one ?
Any thoughts comments ?
I want to fit a D600 with either 50mm or sigma 20mm 1.8 with hood attached and carry the other lens
and in the future a flash as well.

how much space would there be for a jacket and waterproof trousers plus a fleece in the top ? (I can fit all these in a 10l bag)
is it small enough to be used as hand luggage on a ryan air flight ?
finally whats the difference between the 20DL and the 20 ?

I have the 20, looking at the pictures the DL seems the same size just with an updated look. I might be wrong, however.

It would be a very tight fit to get jacked, fleece and trousers into the top. I can get a berghaus rg1 lightweight jacket and overtrousers in the top but I can't see getting a micro fleece in there as well. Very tight with fleece and trousers. The top compartment does expand by unzipping the compartment divider which allows some more space but it is a compromise and doesn't gain that much in reality.

You would get all the gear you listed in OK though, even with the top compartment expanded.

the lightweight stuff is my fell running kit so it packs pretty small.
Is the 20 the size in litres ? and is that the entire bag or just the top bit ?
 
I don't know if the sizes are litres or not - but the 20 feels like it has less space overall than my 25 litre daypack.

I'll pull my bag out (hardly use it these days, got to find it!) and see if I can give you a better idea of how much space there is in the top.
 
I got that bag or one the same size pretty much, my dad does too.
i can fit a gripped a77 with 16-50mm, plus strap, then i use deviders at the very bottom of the bag into 2 lens pockets/tubes, so have a 70 300mm in one, and other a flash, or a couple of short lenses,

if you can put some clothes in the bottom bit i think youll be ok, the top will be like ice cream tub in size, roughly.
i got the tripod carry accessory from korea on ebay and a bottle clip thing also off ebay so i can carry a drinks bottle.

my dads we use a cheapy lens neoprene bag from ebay (china) :)
 
Thanks got this yesterday.
its just possible to fit a small fleece and a full set of waterproofs in the top but not a lot else!
