I want to have a dabble shooting weddings probably only registry office now do I keep my d90 and go for a 17-55mm 2.8 to go with my 35mm 1.8 and 50mm 1.8 or go for a d7000 which I've been offered and use my 18-70mm g lens and upgrade that at a later date.?
 
As my mum says (from her film days): "it's glass stupid".

The D90 is much more than capable of shooting a wedding, glass is a much better investment.

Consider the tamron 17-50 f2.8 at over half the s/h cost. Maybe buy a decent speedlight as well. I'd go for a tamron and an sb700/900 over a 17-55 (its a great lens though) Should also work well with your d7000 when you get it!!

I haven't used my d90 in ages but felt the urge to have a play last night with the tamron and sb900 on it!

Cheers guy's glass does seem to be the way to go, I have an sb700 already maybe ill hit the credit card and get the 7000 and a fast lens just dont tell the mrs;)
 
Personally I regret having moved on the the D7000 from the D90. Bigger, heavier, that annoying focus issue........and for the range of my photography, no improvement in IQ. Bloody GAS!
 
Still in the dark really:thinking: just tried my sons friends d700 wow what a piece of equipment maybe I should sell all my dx stuff and start again ;)
 
A friend of mine has a D700 and his wife has just bought a D600 and he reckons hers is far better than his!

Stop looking for another body and start trying better glass! :D

....unless of course you have loads of money.....
