Has anyone signed up to this? Had look at some of the bits you can view for free and it looks quite good! Thought SK was mostly about photoshop but there seems to be a fair whack of practical tog stuff on there.

Anyone got any comments on it?

Yeah same here. Might give it a go as well, $20 really isn't all that much. Did some months of lynda.com too, some of their stuff is pretty good and the price is more than fair. fxphd.com btw. is going to have a DSLR video class, in case that's of interest.

photoshopusertv is more like a tips&tricks podcast though (and an entertaining one), but it's not a real training program. i haven't done any courses at kelbytraining yet but I'd assume they are more like the lynda.com or totaltraining courses? also photoshopusertv is geared towards, well, photoshop, whereas at least some of the kelby courses are just about pure photography.

Sorry if I'm hijacking the thread.

Has anyone has experience with KelbyTraining and PhotoTraining4u?
If so, any preference?

You could try one of Kelby's books first? I bought the 7-point system and learned some interesting techniques, there wasn't a huge amount that I didn't know already but I don't let that put me off, there's always a 'chestnut' lurking somewhere IMO.

I have to admit I found this book quite dissapointing, I found it far too basic for me, I have found some of his other books much more interesting.

It is basic but , as I mentioned, there's always something we miss.
I previously was unaware of the LAB colour technique, which when used correctly it's a gem.

Also I'm quite certain that many folk do not know about, or are unaware of, the vital process that follows the application of a USM filter, as Kelby demonstrates in 7 points.

Do you? :naughty:

Thanks for the tips here! Not really after a book as I find it easier to learn following a tutorial type lesson. I have the Martin Evening CS3 book which seems fairly comprehensive.

Also I'm more interested in the actual camera related stuff rather than PS items particularly Joe McNally stuff- Moose Peterson also has some features on there!
