The TP52 - 2026 Kell’s 52 for 26. Wk 25 repetitions in nature

Nice shot Kell :)

Week 23 - FADED

I tried a few shots of items that the colour had faded on, but wasn't happy with any.

So I tried a different approach - Faded Glory.

This is the HMS Wellington - at one time performing protectorate duties for British Crown Colonies in the South Pacific.

She was recalled for the second World War, and entered into convoy duties in the North Atlantic. She took part in a total of 103 Atlantic Convoys and is the last surviving dedicated Battle of the Atlantic escort vessel in Britain.

Today, you can hire her for corporate events.

While I do scoff at that somewhat, far better that she survived and is still useful.

Black and white conversion because there's been nothing but flat grey skies any time I've been out with my camera.

I like this shot a lot Kell (I'm going to steal the title of your shot by the way....)

Yep - that ticks it :)

that's original Kell,

Love the highlights in the floor.

Nice set Kell :)

I had a plan to shoot a library but things are what they are :)
Nice image ;)

LOL, second week in a row...last week I had to steal the title of your submission, this week I had the same idea as you. Maybe just not as well shot.

I'm now trying not to look at the main thread before I make my decisions.

Birds of a feather...

Good set of pics all work for the theme.

Thanks Allan

Your chosen shot by a mile for me. That's a really cool image.

Cheers Nick.

Wry nice shot Kell. Movement, lots of colour with reflections and meets the theme (y)

Week 25 - Repetition in nature

Few to choose from. Ironically, all the shots I took on the day we went for a walk were taken under incredibly flat skies.

I really liked the look of the Queen Anne's Lace (I had to look it up), but it could have done with better light.
I also could make a case for the fern being the most 'on theme' with the repetition of forms from the main stalk with leaves, then the vein and petals, then the shape on the petals themselves (I'm making up all these terms, no idea what each part is called). They're like fractals.

And then there's my chosen shot. A complete mistake. I was trying to use an f/1.2 lens, so the DOF was very shallow anyway. But then the wind never really died down enough to get it in focus. But I really liked the ethereal feeling of the finished image. Nearly deleted it in camera.

Queen Anne's Lace - as Wild Carrot doesn't sound quite as evocative
