Just sharing a bit of info really.

I bought a Kenko x2 Pro300 DGX off these forums this week to use on a 70-200 f2.8 for the odd occasion when I need 400mm but I have tried it on my 70-300L on a Canon 1Div and it works a treat. I had assumed it would not focus fast or on anything other that center point but no, it works on all points and reasonably quickly. I am shooting a football match this morning and at Brands Hatch tomorrow so will give it a go in the real world as bar codes on milk bottles are not exactly what everyone wants to see.

Focused on the bar code, exif intact on flickr and was taken handheld as well so IS on this lens works a treat as 1/80 at 600mm. I hadn't had a coffee though.

I'll be interested to see your results, can't see me swapping my 70-300L for a long time so could be a nice addition.
 
I've just had a Kenko 1.4x DGX for the same lens and have been really disappointed with it, in fact I'm returning it. The images are soft, the joint between body & lens with the DGX in place has some movement and the shots are all overexposed by around 1 stop.

I'll be very interested to see if the 2x is any better, especially at Brands. I tested my 1.4x when the safety car was out doing laps in the morning and quickly convinced myself to put it back in the bag and never use it again.
 
I had a 1.4x DGX on a 70-300L and wasn't overly impressed with it. So I'd expect a 2x to be even less impressive.
