I bought a Kenko 3X TELEPLUS PRO 300 teleconverter off the classifieds here.
Optical quality (when it works) is surprisingly good - I'll post up a couple of test shots later that really surprised me!
Thing is... There's something not right with it. The camera doesn't recognise that a lens is attached and most of the time shows an aperture of "0" and it can not stop down.
If I jiggle the lens/TC around, it sometimes momentarily comes to life and does everything as it should, but only for a second or two.
And the rest of the time it just keeps switching between the two modes (no lens attached and fully working) a few times per second!
I've tried it on a 50D, 500D and 50E (EOS film SLR). It is a bit more stable on the 50E film camera, but it still only lets me takes a few shots before the nonsense begins.
Is it a compatibility issue or does it sound like something's wrong?
