Kent: Need wedding experience?

I noticed a thread on here regarding photographers looking to do weddings for experience and portfolios. I'm a photographer myself, but unfortunately can't photograph my own wedding (nor would I want to try!) and I'm in need of a tog who is willing to cover our wedding for the experience/portfolio.

The venue is the very lovely Lost Village of Dode near Cuxton, Kent (google it and see how beautiful it is inside) and would make some great folio shots. Anyone willing to cover the entire day will be fed, watered and made to feel part of the day (I'm no bridezilla) but if you just wanted to cover the church, that would be okay too, though obviously I'd rather have at least a bit of the reception covered.

Anyone interested, please do get in touch! We really are doing this on a shoestring, so any and all help gratefully received!

Hi there and welcome to the forum, by the way. I'm relatively new here, myself.

I've done a couple of weddings now, so have a little experience, but would be more than willing to come along and help out. I can send you some links if you like.

When is it, by the way?

Hello!! I've been a lurker for a while, but only just registered, welcome to us both then!

The wedding is on Thursday 16th April, ceremony quite late at 4pm at Dode, which is about 40 minutes from my home in Edenbridge (also where evening reception is to be held) though we'd make sure you got transported about rather than wasting petrol of your own (or you could do that and we'd cover the petrol?)

Would love to see your site, thanks!

Transport isn't a problem (company fuel card, you see).

It's not so much a site as a gallery. http://www.pbase.com/aja/tracey__dave_wedding

Edit: That's the most recent one and includes loads of shots that didn't make it into the album.

Hello flic3904 and welcome!

I've been looking to get into wedding photography for awhile now, so I'd be more than happy to help.

I can show you some of my wedding shots if you want.

I'm also in the process of getting up my photography site (business site). So, I can show you that as well, within a week or 2.

P.S. I'll upload the wedding images I took and post my flickr link when I get home - at work atm.

I love Dode Chruch, used to drive up there all the time and chill out with mates there. My friend got married there as well, you are right when you say it is beautiful.

 to the site :D
