Looks like you got closer than everyone else judging by your position to the crowd and the lack of barriers obstructing your shots.

The guy is almost naked so Kevin doesn't get his t-shirt wrapped around his chain if his brakes fail.

This year I got in position a good half hour before kickoff.
Last year I was at the back of a 3 deep crowd and had to hold the camera over my head paparazzi style.
I was still a good way away at one end of a rectangular strip but used my much maligned, river dunked 75-300mm on a monopod.

I'd love to go back with a 'real' lens!
