Hi,
May sound like a bit of a silly question but KEYBOARD!!!
What do you find is the best keyboard when it comes to working with photoshop or other apps. Is it the ones that have straight edges or the curved or even those that you can roll up and put in your pocket?
After scouring the web looking at best work practises when it comes to an app like photoshop I notice that an awful lot of work is done on the keyboard rather than with the mouse or tablet that is why I ask the question.
Thanks
Russ

There are a lot of keyboard shortcuts in PS but TBH, it doesn't seem to make much difference which keyboard you use - the shortcuts do the same thing! If the Kb is comfortable to type on, it'll be just fine for accessing the shortcuts. Hell, I've got fat fingers and can use a netbook's kb in PSE2. The problem I have is remembering all the shortcuts, so I often use the mouse and buttons instead.

I use the keyboard on my MacBook as it's a total joy to use. The shortcuts take a while to get used to but once you have them nailed it really quickens up your work flow. Things like cmd (cntrl for Windows) + and - zooms in and out, and [ and ] make your brush bigger and smaller. Even these two simple ones make life so much easier when touching up an image. cmd+j duplicates the layer, cmd+n gives you a new page and cmd+shift+n gives you a new, clean layer. Again, once you have these nailed life gets a lot easier. These are just the main ones I use (along with cmd+s for save and cmd+shift+s for save as) but there are probably hundreds hidden away.

Hi, thanks for replies, yes that is my thinking after watching a DVD, keyboard for 99% of the work and it speeds up the work once you get to grips as to what does what.
Again Thanks
Russ

One of the mags out this month has a desk stand thingy:shrug: with loads of PS shortcuts on, remember seeing it while in WH Smiths the other day, got a feeling it might of been Digital Photo. Could be a help:shrug:

Or just search google images for 'Photoshop CS keyboard cheat sheets'. There are loads out that are free to use, including the official Adobe ones.
