Hey all, im after a khaki shoulder camera bag, im off travelling, and will have a ~40/50L rucksack with my essentials in it, so the shoulder bag can be to the front of me slightly in the ‘normal wearing position’ where I can access it, and still have my rucksack on. Additionally if it is small enough I can throw it in the top of my main rucksack to just be carrying one larger rucksack when needed, so there’s my ideas and intentions of what it should do, unless you guys can think of a better setup? Also the bag will be going on the plane with me as hand luggage, rucksack in the hold.

Something as compact as it -can be- HOWEVER, here is the kicker, I would like to take in it:

Canon 5D (grip removed to keep it smaller)
Sigma 15-30mm (id leave this behind if absolutely necessary)
Canon 24-70mm
Canon 70-300IS (changed to this from a 70-200 F2.8 as its a lot smaller)

Acer Aspire one netbook

Couple of small accessories, lens cleaner, memory cards, couple of cables, guide book or 2, passport etc and minor miscellaneous items, that’s about it.

Quite a lot into a small as space as possible then, to keep it more tightly packed as it can be, I was planning on not leaving any lenses attached to the camera while its in the bag to keep it tiny as possible, for what it is. No I don’t want to buy a micro four thirds and all that camera, I enjoy full frame far to much.

It’s a tall order, and that’s what the bags gotta do, your suggestions ?

Domke also sell nice bags - a bit more reasonably priced than Billingham.
Billingham are however the rolls royce!

Domke Domke Domke.
F2 is the "standard", but you'll have to check their range out to find the one for you.

Lens removed you might cram all that into an F3X, but I'm doubtful about the netbook. Check their range and order from Canada/USA as buying them in the UK is a ripoff.

National Geographic bags are beige canvas too.
