These ones seems fairly affordable and well specced. About £26/16GB which is fine.

Has anyone got them and could confirm the get close to the speed? Any horror stories specific to this particular card? May also try video on it.

I seriously can't believe only sandisk can make cards that work. I've all different brands and they are fine, except the latest Transcend was a complete flop.

I might also get another SD for an overspill / duplication but I see 5DIII for some reason can't utilise the full speed for some reason?

I've noticed that as long as the card can achieve 20mbps, it can do the 1080p video from a 5d mk2 just fine.

One thing I do know about the 5d mk2 and I'm not sure if Canon have addressed it or not. But if you use an SD card with a CF card in your mk3, the CF slows down to the speed of the SD card.

If you look hard enough, you're bound to find a horror story about anything. It seems fantastic value for money, so I'd say definitely pick one up. If you're not impressed, you do have a warranty and a return policy that's got your back!

Side note, you can't really measure CF card speed on a DSLR. The camera will over buffer on video and it just stops. If you can continuously record video without interruption (other than the obvious file size and clip length limits) then the card is fine.

Short story, yeah. that Kingston 16GB card will be fine :)

do you mean if you shot both to CF and SD at the same time, then it depends on the slowest? I usually leave SD in, but mostly don't use it until CF is full

I am sure you can measure speed via USB 3 on your PC. The older ones of mine are fairly accurately described. I would be absolutely fuming if 600x did 20mbps speed. My 300x does almost twice as much.

It has arrived.

I did a test in USB 3.0 reader with Blackmagic:

43 MB/s white, 62 MB/s - not impressed

for comparison older Transcend 8GB 600X gave me
59 MB/s write, 72 MB/s read

I am considering if it is time to complain for false advertising
