Kit lens swap

Have a butchers at Dyxum for image samples... and compare to the sony 16-50 too.

I keep wondering about the tamron too but it's a bit short for me. I'd want the CZ 16-80 I reckon but the build quality isn't what you'd expect so I've never bothered to get one. I have just stuck with the 18-55 which I rarely use. I normally take out my 28-300 for walkabout duties. Or 35mm prime if it is indoors and a bit dark.

Sony 16-50mm is almost double the price of the Tamron :thumbsdown:

there is a 16-80mm in the sales section @ £300, but the seller's not been on line for a few days, was thinking of making an offer on that

I have a 70-200mm f2.8 just wanted a smaller KIT lens within the kit lens parameters and the f2.8 aperture constant throughout the range really appealed to me Suz :D I use my 50mm f1.4 for dark area's lol

They sometimes come up in the outlet on their own or stuck onto an A77. I've seen them at about £300 ish.

Sigma also do one with the same 17-50 and f 2.8. That's also worth investigating.

They also do a 17-70 with macro. Tops out at f4 though:

Never realised the 17-70 existed so now I'm quite interested. Not that I really need yet another sigma lens in my collection!

Thanks for the links Suz, I cant seem to find the Sony Outlet, do you have a link for that :shrug:

I too, like the look of the Sigma Version and not too expensive too

I had a feeling the CZ would end up in your camera bag somehow ;)

Be next weekend Suz, trip to London ( Bushy Park) and the New Forest on the following day) I have 4 days off so making the best of it

It looked like a better option for me than the 17 50mm, to replace the standard 18-55mm kit lens ( which I will now sell on here)
