Kit Recommendation..

Having purchased numerous bags in the past thinking that this next bag will be all that I need......but I finally think that I have found my everyday carry bag that does everything I need it to.....that bag being the Kata DC 445....

I have managed to house the following in the very versatile interior

D300 Body with sigma 18-125 on body
Sigma 15-30 wide angle
Nikon 70-300 vr
Cleaning brushes
Carry strap
Cokin P series filters x4 in their own boxes
Cokin holder

With plenty of room to spare....

Needed to find a way to carry the tripod this morning so used two tripod straps from my think tank bag and attached them to the steel rings either side.......carrying it is so balanced and bear in mind this is a Manfrotto 055xprob with 460MG head I was really surprised at how easy it was.......

Bag cost - 39.99 GBP from Jacobs digital.......for that price I feel it is an absolute steal and would personally rec it to anyone......while I as in Jacobs I did compare it to the think tank and the LowePro but both seemed and felt flimsy and not as well built... I may well live to eat those words but so far am finally over the moon with a bag purchase....

Just reviving this thread after doing a search on the Kata 445.

I bought one yesterday. Having upgraded to a D2x my Crumpler Messenger Boy 4000 is just too small to fit it. The Kata feels really well made and, despite being only fractionally larger than the Crumpler, fits a lot of kit.

This is what I've crammed into mine:

Nikon D2x with Sigma 24-60mm f/2.8 mounted
Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6
Sigma 50mm f/2.8 Macro
Nikon 180mm f/2.8
Nikon SB-24 flash + StoFen diffuser
Kodak Zi6 digital camcorder

plus memory cards, lens pen, spare AA batteries etc.

I've got to put it through its paces in the field, but it's a promising bit of kit and at a very competitive price.
