Nice set of behavioural shots Peter, was the Partridge dead (carrion)?

Probably not but it was taken just the other side of a growing crop so impossible to see.

Interesting, I think they are normally thought of as scavengers rather than predators.

Well you could be right about this partridge Roger but no way of knowing. There are certainly other things that kill there - I have seen stoats for example.
