First it was Olympus having a few financial problems now it appears Kodak are going to file for bankruptcy according to the Wall Street Journal.

... Until this news broke, at which point everyone ran out and bulk bought a lifetime supply of portra 400 :D

Hm? I thought they were just filing for bankruptcy protection for if they can't sell the patents they own? Or is that the same thing, really?

Basically, all Kodak should do is keep owning their patents, because no-one can make a digital camera (pretty much) without paying Kodak because chances are, they own at least one patent relating to it

However film industry and hollywood have a much bigger effect on the sales as just an hour of motion picture takes around the equivalent of 2400 rolls of 36 exp film. Thats not taking into account the hundreds of hours of film that is not used in the final cut.

Shame they made all those 1's and 0's that don't use film. Shame to see Kodak in such a bad state, really.

Wrong choice, should have bought colour developer patents. Without them there is no future to colour film from any manufacturer.

If they go it will be such a shame, Elitechrome Extra Colour was my favourite slide film ever, much preferred it to velvia for 35mm, but of course along came digital and I along with many others got hooked.
