The Cathedral is probably the most impressive building that I've ever been in...a must on any trip to Cologne.

Its massive,very impressive detail too.
Go on the subway too, that was pretty cool.
Markets too and there was some cool shops too.
One cigar shop with about a million diffrent kinds.

wall to wall england football fans last time I went.. couple of yrs ago.. but what I did see of the center it looked well worth taking a camera.. if ya hear a ring ring then jump out of way.. them cyclists just dont care :)

Cheers for all your shouts guys! Taking the missus there for the Christmas markets, but its an excuse for the camera to come out :) lol

I took my Voigtlander Bessa R to the Christmas markets in Cologne a few years ago. Hardly took any photos, just got very drunk on gluhwein. :)

Aye, that's what we did, is this a coach tour? We also stopped at a supermarket in Calais for duty free.

just got back from Brugge last night.
There is one xmas market in the centre with a skating rink, and another just down the street.
There is a stall on the first market with lots of belgian beer and glasses, and another shop down the street with hundred of different beers and glasses (although that one is a bit over priced to say the least!)

I would actually say that Lille has the edge over Brugge when it comes to Christmas Markets, but its a close run competition :)

Big :plusone: here - it's some stunning architecture.

Can also recommend the Haxenhaus for somewhere to eat and the NussknackerHaus has some fantastic traditional style toys (right behind the Haxenhaus).

Cheers guys - did Brugge last year, couldnt put the camera down!!

I know that bottle shop very well, spent alot of money in there!!! I will be in there Thursday!!! lol

Am I thinking of a differnet city? The cathedral is slap bang in the middle of a rather foul modern concrete plaza?

Arrived after a bum numbing drive!! Cathedral does look impressive from the outside, cant wait to get in!!

Well i popped in the cathedral.....impressive!! going back tomorrow with camera to play. Wouldnt say its a disappointment, but I think the one in Barcelona beats it!!

You found the Fruh brewery next to the cathedral? They may be small glasses but they certainly keep em coming. Think I fell over at about 10 the last time
Oh, n have a good drool at the camera shops round the cathedral too :)
