Does anyone on here have a Labelflash compatible CD/DVD writer? I have one on my Acer desktop but I’m really struggling to find suppliers of the compatible discs. When I bought the computer I just assumed I’d be able to use the Lightscribe discs that I already have but the computer says they’re not compatible. Lightscribe dics I can buy for less than £15 for a pack of 25 DVDs but the labelflash ones I’m struggling to find anyone that sells a pack of more than 5 which go for about £6.

I have 2 questions, are the lightscribe discs totally incompatible with labelflash? And where can you buy good value packs of labelflash discs?

From a quick bit of research there is a difference in the technology, so I suspect that labelflash disks aren't compatible with lightscribe ones. It would seem that Nero burning software is the only one that supports Labelflash disk writing.

I suspect that the software checks to see what disk is in the burner before attempting to write.

I've also bee disappointed with Lightscribe. The density is not as good as I would like, plus the a long time it takes to write a disk. I've now gone back to printing direct to CD/DVD via ink jet. Still not ideal, but does stop the problem of the DVD labels coming off after a time

For disks try APR media
