Tomorrow is my 8 hour outting with my carer, I had thought about going to Lancaster (reasons unknown) to take some photos, having never been can anyone recommend places to go? if suitable for my pope mobile!

Dunno mate but a quick google revealed

and straight away the Festival Market stood out, partly because markets are always great places for photography but also:

Festival Market is situated on Morecambe's promenade and enjoys stunning views over Morecambe Bay towards the Cumbrian Hills. You can see many interesting sights such as the Tern Project, and Poem Path or you can have your photograph taken with the legendary Eric Morecambe, whose famous statue is situated just a short walk away from the market hall.

Possibly the best place imo is Williamson Park/Ashton Memorial - should be pretty accessible - there is a car park right up in the park and most of the paths from there are tarmac and flat ish I think. Nice views of the Lakes if it's clear enough.

You might be able to go round the butterfly house there too - not sure what the chair access would be like in there.

The other places that would be good if you have time is to get out to Morecambe and go along the prom. Cracking views across the bay from there plus the Midland Hotel is rather cool.

Hi Julian.
What about the Millenium Walk/Lune Valley Walk? Very accesable with wheelchair, (old railway and tarmacked) Follows the River Lune with some spectacular views and wildlife! You can drive up to the Crook o Lune for probably the best panorama in the area, the Lune Valley with views of 3 peaks. Have a peep HERE Also plenty of wildlife that are used to people, AND a place for coffee & snacks! What more could you want?

I like the sound of that Baz.

Good! You won't regret it! When my mates Daughter and Grandson comes on a walk with us, we go on this walk more often than not, (pushchair for grandson!) It never fails to suprise us! Last time we saw 13, yes, 13 Herons near Skirton Weir!

Just thinking about carer as well shes worked all morning then a drive up to Lancaster and then walking round and driving back, not very pleasurable for her.

Have been togging in Williamson Park myself grum, your evening shots are superb.

Pete
