It wasn't cropped at all, just filled the frame too much in the camera and would much have preferred a wee bit more space around it.
Would you mind telling me how to alter the photo like that?
Somebody did tell me a while ago but the old brain cells are dying quick!

Hi Mike,
I realised the image was as taken and although I said cropped I meant that it had been cropped in camera.
As for the treatment, all I did (and not as well as I could have) was to increase the canvas size in CS5, then select an area around the jet, invert it and paint the white canvas, Then crop to size.
Add required extra canvas
Select paint colour
Select area around subject
Invert Slection
Select Brsh

I will have a wee play as still a novice at pp.
That last work is so much better than the plain blue, but don't tell me how you did it, because the old head will be splitting just shortly!

Had a wee play and, apart from not getting just quite the right blue, it went fine.
There is another way of doing it, something about extending the actual picture itself.
Will have a wee search on here because somebody told me how to extend one of my bike photos.
Found it, some magic thing called "content aware"
