Right, what are your recommendations?

Was looking at the Tokina 11-16 116. But there's a second edition due out. Not sure what changes will be involved. Remember seeing an article on dpreview in January.

Or do I go for one of the Sigma 10-20? Which one?

Or anything else?

Budget isn't my main priority. It's for my D7000 :)

I've recently bought the Sigma 10-20

very happy with it so far

nice and sharp and looks well built

If I look at the 10-20, is it worth going for the 3.5 or the 4-5.6?

I'll have a read about the 10-24. Cheers.

Hi Stew

Ive got both the Tokina 11-16 f2.8 (great lens), Nikon 12-24 (very good lens) and have used the sigma 10-20 f4-5.6 (my least favoured of the 3).

I am back in the UK and in your neck of the woods for a week from 14 April so if you have not got fixed up and fancy trying the Tokina and/or the Nikon just let me know.

Steve

I've not tried the others, but I've been so delighted with my Sigma 10-20 and D7000 combination :)
However, the best advice anyone can give you is try everything that's available (and what a great offer from Stew!) and them SLEEP ON IT!!!!!

and only when you've looked at your images, and looked again, make your decision.... however, I've never been disappointed in my Sigma 10-20 (and it's fantastic for animals too!)

some examples for you here:

the ones I've taken above are 4-5.6 ;)

I must say they are very nice images Maria....you are absolutely correct in suggesting Stew try all 3 (if anyone in the North East has a Sigma he can try) then view the images before making a decision.
