Landscape panoramas - workflow

Hello,

I was after some advice about what people used for their workflow for creating panorama images (stitched together).

I have about 7 images (RAW) and used LR3 and PS5 to create the image below.

I selected the images in LR, imported to PS, and created the panorama there. Then back into LR for finishing touches (although I abandoned this step, as the computer slowed down to snail's pace).

However, I found the process unwieldy, very demanding on my PC even though it's a quad-core with 8gb ram.

Any suggestions on how the process can be improved, specifically with advice on when to downsize / convert to JPG, and when to apply lens correction. Thanks.

I do everything in Lightroom, syncing the settings to all images, then send to PS to merge into the panorama and keep the TIFF in Lightroom.

Your workflow is pretty much the same as mine, except that I use PT Assembler to do the stitching. So I do the global exposure / contrast / saturation stuff in LR; synch the changes so that they're identical on all images; export to JPEG; use PTA to create the pano as a TIFF or JPEG; import to LR for final tweaks (e.g. cropping).

PS Your choice of subject and viwpoint is pretty much the same as mine too! But you had better weather...
