I am staying at Lustleigh in Devon for a week in August and am keen to do some landscape photography while I am there. I do not know the area so can anyone suggest suitable places within a short drive and whether sunrise or sunset (or other) is best.

Many thanks
Gordon Ford

It's on the east edge of Dartmoor, so to name a few places - Haytor, Bowerman's Nose, Fernworthy Reservoir, Tottiford/Trenchford Reservoirs, the River Teign north from Steps Bridge is beautiful on a clear early morning. It's a lovely area.

Thanks for your recommendations it gives me plenty of options. Becky Falls has been suggested, I have googled it and it does look promising but very commercialised, has anyone on the forum been ther and if so do you have any recommendations on which part of the falls to head for before the crowds turn up. My gut feeling is that I should do a recce on this visit and then plan to return in the autumn when the tourists have gone and there has been more rain to make the falls better.

For Becky Falls you need to be there after heavy rain, and I'd definitely wait till after the main holiday season. You might be hard pushed to see any water between grockles at the moment. I haven't been there in many years. I used to live just a few miles away so I would walk across the moor and sneak in to avoid paying. I don't know if you can still do that...............;)
