Laptop Monitor - dull

Turned on laptop yesterday and it is very dark compared to how it normally is. Its an Acer Aspire 5732Z - is there a key or something I have hit to make it duller or is there one I can use to brighten it again?

On the keyboard there should be a keys with blue lettering, press and hold the Fn key while pressing the key with a blue "full" sun icon on it


There should also be a key with a blue "empty" sun icon on it
