Laptop Opinions

check out the sony shop at the moment - some good discounts

What do you intend to use the laptop for?

Just surfing the internet?

Photo / video editing?

Gaming?

To be honest, I'd be pretty happen with the one you spec'ed

As you described gadgetman.

Im not one for gaming on my pc, but i do want a good spec as i cant stand a computer than runs badly.

If you intend to use it for photo/video editing then this wouldn't be ideal as it doesn't have dedicated graphics.

Ok.

So im looking for something with 3GB ram, 250Gig HDD and dedicated graphics...

Any ideas in my price range? May stretch for the right one...

Twopence worth - and probably will start a discussion.

Mac's are ideal. Very stable, doesn't catch the flu, excellent for progs like LR and Aperture. The current 13" models are £704 but if you shop around in places like John Lewis you could pick up one of the previous line for a lot cheaper.

Ignore this post of you hate macs. I used too, but since taking the plunge I have never looked back. Awesome OS too.

Techno-geek: Yeah it will be for on the go aswell

Smoothedit: I've been looking at these, and have had deep consideration. Although, if I go for a mac it would be the desktop version

Why a desktop version may I ask? They are sturdy as, and I never think twice about using mine in a desktop role. Just grabbed myself a usb hub and an extra power lead, then all I have to do is grab it and plug two wires in and I am set to go!

The desktops are sexy as... and the 'all inside' design makes for a seriously nice workspace!

Recommend *eeeek* macwarehouse aka pc world business - they have some great deals on older models with software included such as aperture.

If i'm brutally honest, I just prefer the looks of the desktop workstation.
