No doubt this is old news to alot of people, but for those who dont know i'll share a tip i learnt today.

It basically involves using your laptop (or any PC of course) as your cameras lcd screen using Canon EOS Utility. The real beauty of this is that you can make a batch file so that when you take a shot, it comes up straight away in windows fax and picture viewer, in a maximised window!

Its just awesome, i tried it tonight. Im now gonna take my laptop to football games from now on (weather permitting), i dont even have to worry about memory card space either.:D

you can also do this with other camera makes.

There are other ways to do it as well that don't involve a laptop. I have seen videos of people using portable DVD players and 9" tv screens like those you get in cars.

If you've got an HDMI port on your camera you could also use a 50" plasma :D

isn't that a tethered shot?

Yeah, i've read about using portable screens too, i dont have one thats why i was so chuffed to see this. Normally you dont get the full screen preview with EOS utility unless you have a suitable 'linked' prog to open it with, and i thought that most people wont know about batch files so i thought it might be useful for some.
