Laptop woes

Hi

I have a Dell Inspiron 1150 laptop with a 15 inch screen.

It is almost impossible to see what's on the screen now. It is so faded and looks along way back, but it works perfectly when connected to a monitor.

Is this a dead screen or just a broken back light? Hope its not both!

could just be the backlight..

have a look on ebay, usually there are screens for sale there. usually dells are fairly straight forward to take apart.

Probably the inverter or backlight. If it's still in warranty, just get Dell to fix it. If not, it shouldn't cost too much to replace the parts.

You might want to try taking the keyboard up and checking the connection is okay from the screen to the laptop. Just unplug the connection, and put it back in. (Check your manual obviously)
