large format lens on 1.6crop ?

If you could fit a 300mm pentax 6x7 large format lens on a 1.6 crop camera what would the field of view be .
i just got asked this and dont know

480mm, same as any other 300mm. You are just using even less of the glass than a ff lens

basically the same as putting a 300 2.8 Canon lens on that 1.6 crop camera, which is roughly equivalent to a 500 or right around 5 degrees.
